The Sackets Harbor Historical Society was founded in 1972 by a small group of citizens concerned with preserving the many historic structures in this small village on the shores of Lake Ontario in Northern New York.

First published in 1812, the Sackets Harbor Gazette was re-introduced in 1998 and serves the Village of Sackets Harbor and the Town of Hounsfield.
