Maritime History Program
“The Day the Royal Artillery Came to Town,” Maritime History Program, with author Marc Seguin on Friday, August 10 at 7:00 p.m.
The Sackets Harbor Historical Society, together with the Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site and the Dexter Historical Society, announces an upcoming maritime history program on Friday, August 10 at 7:00 p.m. with Canadian author, Marc Seguin. Mr. Seguin recently published a book about Henry Baines. “The Cruise of the Breeze: The Journal, Art, and Life of a Victorian Soldier in Canada” which includes a fully-illustrated and annotated version of Henry Baines’ journal along with a summary of his life, military career, and artwork, and also the details of events leading to Baines’ tragic death at Quebec in 1866.
Copies of the book will be available for purchase. The program will take place at the Red Barn on the Sackets Harbor Battlefield, located on Hill Street, between West Washington and Edmund streets in the Village of Sackets Harbor.
